The Presidio Sunday School is a non-denominational Christian Sunday school meeting in San Francisco's beautiful Presidio National Park. The goal of the program is to impart faith in God in the hearts of children in grades K-8.
 The founder and head teacher of PS2 is Joy Libby, mother of two and a veteran Sunday school teacher. Joy started the PS2 program in September 2004, with the expressed goal of “instilling in my kids and their friends a heart-felt appreciation for God. My hope and sincere belief is that an early focus on the Bible and the positive example of Jesus Christ will give them a clear path to follow as they grow and begin to make faith decisions on their own.” See PS2 Team for more about Joy and other volunteers and supporters of PS2.
If you live in or near San Francisco, stop in to visit -- you may want to join us on a regular basis! There is no fee for registration; PS2 is supported entirely by contributions from participant families and other supporters. Registration is simple.
After registering and receiving a confirmation of enrollment, check the Calendar to ensure that the program is operating on a given Sunday. Generally, PS2 will operate when local schools are in session and will take breaks when the schools do. For the fall session of 2008, the first session will be on September and the last session will be on December 14, when the children perform their 5th Christmas Pageant.
Throughout the year, we schedule events that include activities for parents as well as children; we call these events "whole-family days." These events are highlighted on the calendar. In the fall semester, these activities include a pumpkin-carving party, a Thanksgiving potluck and the Christmas pageant. In the spring, we have events such as a Mothers' Day celebration and a great family hike through the Presidio (Inspiration Point photo on the home page) and a fun barbecue afterwards. We encourage you to join your children on these Sunday mornings. In fact, parents are welcome at any time!
